Also inspired by Bram Stoker's 'Dracula', this 1890s three piece suit was intended for the character Van Helsing, but played a much more interesting role as my husband's wedding suit. The frock coat was made with couture tailoring techniques. Included is a waistcoat with lapels and high waisted pants with a button fly and suspenders.

This jacket was modelled after the World War II W.R.E.N.S. uniform. The wide lapel, collar and pointed pockets are common in military uniforms of the 1940s. The jacket is fully lined, has self-made shoulder pads, and was constructed with couture tailoring techniques.
Inspired by a vintage Peggy Hunt dress, this two-piece gown was draped entirely on the dress form. It is made from crepe chiffon and has a boned bodice which closes with hooks and eyes. A diamond embellishment finishes off the dress.

At Northern College of Costume we worked with costume designer Sue Newel to create our Edwardian projects. I was given this design, which I sourced fabric in London, drafted the patterns, and constructed the outfit within a three week time period. Included is the corset and petticoat. This outfit has voluminous sleeves on a collared jacket, a pin-tucked blouse, wide skirt with ribbon trim, and a belt to compliment the silhouette.

LEARS DAUGHTERS
NORTHERN COLLEGE OF COSTUME
'Lear's Daughters' was a world set in 'high fashion fantasy' with overtones of a sinister future. I utilized the University of Calgary's wardrobe stock to pull costumes for this show, and created a simple medieval look for each character.

Another show from University of Calgary. Using stock costumes I assembled each character to fit with the 1970s timeline. Included is a lobster man and a 'rock and roll saviour'.

MATING SEASON
The final show of my degree in University of Calgary. 'Mating Season' was a comedy musical featuring manatees. The cast wore varying shades of grey clothing with mittens and booties for flippers. I also designed and built the set, which featured moveable blocks and a dock.
